What data is collected by the native apps and which permissions are required?

BANDZONE uses as few permissions as possible in the native apps.

However, a few features, such as file upload, may be limited if you disable some permissions for the app.

As soon as push notifications are generally available in the app (~ spring 2025), you will be asked for your consent directly in the app before actual activation.

The following is some more information about special data types that you can see in the Google Play Store for BANDZONE:

Required data

  • User IDs
    • In the system, a unique user ID is assigned to each account. This ID is, for example, used as a reference to the creating band member when creating elements (songs, appointments, etc.). It is also used to identify the logged-in band member.
  • Email address
    • The email address (as well as the password) is required to create a BANDZONE account. BANDZONE cannot be used without an account.
  • App interactions
    • In case of an error (depending on the error), the above user ID may be included in the error logs. We need this information to quickly resolve the issue.
    • During regular operation (without errors), only a hashed, i.e., non-reversible version of the user ID is used for statistical analysis of general user interactions with the system.

Optional data

  • Name, Address, Phone number
    • You and band admins can optionally store this data in your band member profile to simplify communication within the band.
  • Photos, videos, audio files, other files and docs
    • You can upload files, e.g., for songs and events, to share them with band members or have them available for yourself in BANDZONE.
  • Device or other IDs
    • If you want to use push notifications, the use of the device ID may be required.
